matching historical clothing!

since everyone else is making clothing for their boys for pennsic... and i don't like sewing...
i've hit upon a brilliant idea: matching togas!

even i can make a toga!

in linen of course.

And hey, doesn't that work with the theme for the Pennsic Ball this year, too? :)

yeah!

though.. this is harder then it looks.

if you want to make it look flattering instead of a bag lady.

You're so much nicer to Andy than I am to Josh. Josh gets cotton t-tunics and poly-cotton pajama pants. If he likes it maybe he gets better stuff next year! FOr the "classical" theme I'm just making him a roman slave tunic (longer) in white! Poor boy.

I'm struggling with how to make classical costume not make me look like I'm wearing a pillowcase. Ah, for Judith's figure. Hrm. Two weeks and counting to figure this out.

actually, i think i may just loan andy my white linen chemise (which looks like a tunic) and buy some linen for him to swing over his shoulders. tada! matching!

and yeah. same thing about the toga.. i got one sorta made.. and it seems it all depends totally on how the neckline and stuff fit... and it's hard to replicate the look each time.
anyways, we'll help each other :)
