heartburn poll

--- If you've ever had heartburn in your life, how did you treat it?

I've been having heartburn for a while, it goes up and down. the past few days have been bad..
i've tried prilosec before, it worked for some time but then it made me really sick. i don't really like being on drugs.

i guess the only other option is to change my diet. but i'm having a really really hard time sticking to a bland, salad rich diet. sigh. but today's a new day, I'll go to central market and grab more greens. maybe more cheese.. or something to trick me to eat it.

*feeling sorry for myself*

update: so i went to central market, got myself fresh celery and cumcumber juice.. and spent lots of money buying salads, dressing, things to trick me to eat salad like proscuitto, pancetta, blue cheese, brie, piave.. and other proteins (ox-tail).. I love meat. So hopefully I can get on a low-carb, high fiber, protein diet.

I guess I've to trick myself into eating fruits and cheese for dessert, like the french. instead of my fav chocolates.

maybe chocolate isn't a trigger for you...its just that i noticed that it was for me so i stopped eating it. but trust me, it was only bc i would feel so sick after eating it. had it just been some nebulous concern, i wouldn't have stopped.

(side note: is andy in town right now?)

there's a proven link between chocolate and the LES (lower easophagal sphincter) weakening. So it allows acid to flow past. Most of my issues is when I go to sleep, and the acid will back up.

yep, andy is in town..
