"if you paint it yellow it'll look like a banana!"

today is the third day in a row i went to the lake with my inflatable kayak. i've a 3 month water trial until may 1st to decide on whether to keep it. now that that the skegs are less bent, it seems to go more straight. though, it is definitely bulky and not as agile as a hard shell. otoh, a hardshell doesn't fold in a trunk, and isn't as comfortable. i went kayaking with gene today and for the 2nd time, he didn't bring his kayak along... even though he has a car rack. he just rented. so.. i guess i'm growing to like my kayak. even though people look at it and think it's funny "an inflatable!!" "if you paint it yellow it'll look like a banana."

freezing your thoughts away

it's funny how being in nature.. makes you so much more "in the moment". i was too cold and too aware of the wind, my body, toes and numb fingers to spend time angsting.

the water took away a lot of the bad energy that i've been feeling.

thank you, lake austin.
