I did something really brave last night. During musical theatre class, they were asking people to audition for two short alto solos, and people kept hemming and hawing, and I finally just stepped in the middle of that and sang. (The pianist had kept playing the same opening notes over and over). And then the room quieted down and let me finish.

I didn't get the part, but I'm proud that I did that. Because, singing in front of 40 other musical theatre students? Scary.

Again, it's the whole, I'm good at it.. but I'm not great at it. I'm good at a lot of things in life, because I've a lot of hobbies, and I'm a fast learner. But being great, and having it come easy... not very often. Photography seems to be one though. Or at least running a photography business ;-)

I did my first maternity shoot. That was kind of fun. I actually do want to specialize in just weddings, but my 2nd bride from last year is already pregnant, and she's mentioned me doing her maternity photos and newborn photos. And then one day I'll photograph her children's wedding? Apparently my clients are life-long.

I'm not sure about this newborn stuff though. I might refer that out. Or maybe just do outrageous stuff like put newborns in the washing machine. A cast-iron pan? Smoking a cigar. Do we blame Anne Geddes? Yes.
