I like pretty things

(no subject)

So today I found out that a friend's daughter was raped while attending college at an ivy league school. She went to a frat party and was drugged. After that she started starving herself, and then tried to kill herself by slitting her wrists. The family found out over a year later, and then asked her who the boy was, and she refused to say.

It blows my mind that this shit still happens in the first world. This privileged ivy league boy fucked up a girl and her family, and is suffering zero consequences for it. He's probably an investment banker somewhere now.

It makes me sad that a lot of rape victims feel like it's their fault somehow, and then feel shame, when it wasn't their fault whatsoever. It makes me angry that this guy is just walking around free, and probably raping other women.

It's not Cornell, otherwise I would be sending furious alumni letters to them. Apparently the parents were not notified by the woman's health center that she went to, because students over 18 can decide to withhold information from the parents.
