i've lost 6 lbs in 6 days

lol. i would be worried more if i hadn't gained 5 lbs in a week before.

it is kinda a lot kinda fast tho. hmm...
i have been eating about 1500-1800 calories a day.. as opposed to my 2800 - 3500 calories a day.
it's like someone switched on my ability to control how i eat. it's very weird..
i'm believing more and more that it's the chemistry in your body that decides how you eat and how much you weigh... not that you're lazy, or lacking self-control. but it's probably different for each person how to control it.

but i dunno, we'll see if this weight-loss continues. it's hard for me to believe that an endorphin high could cause all this. (without drugs or intense exercise)

hmm. curiosity.

but on the good side, i'm feeling more self-confident and hot! yeah!

As a weight-loss veteran, let me say that some of those six pounds are lost oil from your fat cells. That's great! Some is most likely water, because your diet has shifted to something inspiring your body to hold less water in reserve. I tell you this so that if you stick to the same regimen and next week you 'gain' a pound, you'll perhaps know that you lost more oil, but regained some water.

ummm. i've been dieting for years. i'm female, and i'm a ballet dancer. i've read lots of books on weight loss.

and 6 lbs is fucking great.

This is something I've always wondered when people talk about losing 5 pounds or wanting to lose 5 pounds. I regularly fluctuate from 1-5 pounds over the course of a week, which I've assumed is based on water retention (particularly around my period). So when you're dieting and monitoring your loss by weight, how do you control for the effects of water?

I'm glad you're feeling more self-confident, hot, and able to control your eating. That's awesome!

it helps to weigh yourself at the same time each day. so in my case, my lowest weight tend to be when i just woke up and pooped. ;-)
that will generally be my lowest weight for the day, unless i exercise intensely or eat very little.

also i write down the calories i eat each day. and also what i weigh, so you can definitely start seeing patterns. if you fluctuate from say 100 to 105 lbs, then you know you're fine when you see yourself at 104 lbs. But if in another month, you see yourself fluctiating from 105 to 110 lbs, then you can assume you gained 5 lbs.
in my case, i saw a number on the scale that i haven't seen in a while. :)

yeah, i'm having a blast, we should hang out sometime so i can give you some gory details :-P just give me a call if you're around my area in the weekends, though this saturday i have an sca thing, and a party afterwards.
