I won the lottery, again!

LJ needs a better search function, because I remember posting how I won $3 from the lotto texas, by getting 3 out of 6 numbers right.
Well, today I found out I got 4 out of 6 numbers right, which gives me $52.

So actually I'm ahead in the lottery game :) I occasionally buy a ticket when I fill up on gas, though not always. And some other times too.
5 out of 6 pays out in the thousands, and 6 out of 6 in the millions. When I do win millions of dollars, I'll probably keep it private ;-) If I suddenly have a nice expensive car and buy a house in Hyde Park, you may start suspecting.

Super logical Andy makes fun of me for buying lottery tickets, but for a dollar I can dream about what I could do if I had the money. A housing co-op in Hyde Park that has weekly housecleaning, a new car, my whimsy foundation -- one that exists to give people money to do whimsical things... like make-a-wish but not necessarily for people who are dying.

And so far I'm ahead, and someone's gotta win, and I've been winning ;-) and I'll win!

To make a foundation "eternal" you need to spend no more than the interest accrued, minus inflation.

For a foundation whose money just sit passively in one (or a few geographically diverse if it's large) index-fonds, this tends to mean they can give out 4-5% of their capital every year, forever.

Your whimsical foundation sounds like fun, if you decide to do it, give us a hint, may want to toss in a little.
