Things you do to calm yourself

What are some of the things you do to calm yourself? I am easily anxious. I tried meditation but feel easily antsy while doing it. Dancing may be the closest thing I have to being relaxed. Generally, being with people helps, but I want to be able to be calm when I am alone too.

WHat do I do to relax myself?

1) drink too much wine (this doesn't always help, but it does sometimes)
2) take long hot baths
3) get upset about something else, which distracts me from whatever I'm anxious about long enough to calm down
4) exercise (aerobic, not the classic relaxation stuff like yoga)

I also think you could benefit really substantially from seeing an acupuncturist. A good one should be able to help address some of the underlying issues causing your anxiety and, over time, diminish it. There have got to be some good acupuncturists in Austin, although the treatment costs about as much as a doctor's visit and isn't covered by insurance, which is an issue for me and I suppose would be for you, too.
