Upon the suggestion of Gene, we went to see Four Day Weekend, an improv troupe, with their own fancy theatre in downtown fort worth. They've been around since at least 1997 and Andy thinks they are very "commercial" and "marketable". They do short form, mostly scenes, take a lot of suggestions and are crowd pleasers. I found them pleasant, and chuckled consistently through out the show, so much that my laughing muscles hurt. But overall, I'm not wow-ed by them. They had a format like cops, with a "Bad boys" music playing in the intro. Two men sat on chairs side by side, and then someone walked on stage with a handycam and filmed them from behind. Like the two guys were in a cop car and would talk to the camera behind them. The film was projected on a huge projector screen. It was a really cool format.
It took us more then an hour to drive to Ft Worth, and then there was crazy traffic from their downtown parade. After the show, we had dinner at a mexican restaurant. It was fun.
I'm back in Austin, and glad to be home.
btw, Zelda rocks. Also, there's rumors that Bestbuy will get a shipment of Wiis tomorrow.
