fitness

So January is going to be me on a exercise crack. The first weekend is a mini-intensive with Ballet Austin, for adult intermediate dancers. That's going to be fun, and then after that I'm doing a 5 day personal boot camp is which 3 hours of exercise per day. And I'm also part of a 2 month insanity/beach body challenge.

Also, it's slow season for weddings, so I will have time to just focus on me.

The Nike Fuel band is doing it's job... They have a 2000 points goal for normal activity, 3000 for somewhat active and 4000 to 5000 for the super athletic people. Mine is at 3000 and to reach it I have to do some booty dancing periodically. It has social media support, so you can see your friends points. Right now I only have 2 friends though I got my 2 close friends to get it... the more the merrier:

i heard there were some issues with the fuel band when it first came out. right now it seems great though!

i was on fitocracy, still is, but don't really use it. i use myfitnesspal.

congrats on the bmi reduction, that's pretty huge!

Maybe I'll give them a second chance -- the problems I was having was right on their introduction, perhaps they had some issues that have since been ironed out.

Myfitnesspal is good, but unless I missed something, mainly about calorie-counting rather than working out. I don't need to count calories for my diet, I need only a watch, I've been using intermittent fasting, which in practice means that mon-fri I've been eating 11-19 and fasting the rest of the day. That's worked out well enough that I'm sticking with it.

Yeah ! I did. Supercute ! Thanks a lot !

Fitocracy has been sufficient motivation for me to workout - I've worked out more the last 6 months than the 8 previous years combined. Twice -every- week running + an assortment of other stuff like paddling, hiking and climbing.

Not done much for my strength, but plenty cardio. Sort of planning to up my strength a bit this year.
