Decemberween and Andy & Jay's party

I wasn't in the mood to go to Decemberween but foolmonkey told me to come: "We'll cheer you up!"

And I actually did have a good time. For most of the party I easily flowed from one conversation to the other, I was definitely "on" for most of it. If I may say so myself, I was hot in my costume, which only one person got: I was the Stanford Bunny. It was a computer graphics geeky reference, in fact, I had to google it when foolmonkey first told me about it. I wore bunny ears, a bowtie on my shirt, a bobtail and some red felt letters that spelled S-T-A-N-F-O-R-D on my shirt. Plus my almost-perfect jeans.

(There was also the Cornell Box. But it wouldn't have been as sexy, plus, it was an animal theme party.
I didn't want to be a steoreotypical female-in-lingerie-with-bunnie-ears-costume. So I was a geeky 3D graphics model with bunny ears. Sure enough, there were 2 other bunnies in the party. But I was pleased with mine.)

After Decemberween, I went to an improv party at Andy and Jay's. Very similar and different party. Young crowd still, though improviser heavy. I got to see museofchaos, flounderphil, valetoile, deroosisonfire, extemprov and the few other improvisers who don't have LJ accounts, wrestle. I would've wrestled but my bobtail would've gotten in the way.

Sounds like a good time. Because of munchor's connections, I knew that Andy & Jay's wasn't my place. BTW, deroosisonfire is the one who ended up with the couch that Thomas and Sharon gave us.

Hah. That's kinda wierd that they have the same names.

I'm glad she got the couch! What a small world. Austin is like a 1-degree of saperation... plus she's a Cornellian :-)

Apparently munchor knew that she went to Cornell, but it never came up when I was talking to her. She seemed like she'd be a lot of fun.

She was in the improv troupe there. She is great.

No, I'm not. I have probably spent a few months worth of nights in Ithaca, and eaten too many meals from Lou's Lunch (the truck that (used to often be?) parked across the street from Risley Hall). I've eaten a meal or two at the No-Yes ambiguity center as well. I was married in a ceremony in Buttermilk Falls park. This was my disasterous marriage to Andy's mother (Master of Fine Arts at Cornell and now a crazy cat-lady in Syracuse). Ithaca (and people from Cornell) is were I first got exposed to Commedia dell'Arte, which is now a central focus of my life. Cornell figures as a big part of my life in many ways, but I never attended.
