Lazy Austin days...

I cancelled my trip to Seattle... I had freaked out at the thought of being by myself at Christmas, and bought expensive tickets to Seattle, which resulted only in 2 full days there, and 2 days to travel. Plus immediately going to Richmond the next day after the trip to visit grinellian2001. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted to just spend the time in Austin relaxing. So I canceled the ticket. So far my days have been rather nice. Yesterday I had a massage at noon, and then nickjong and I made home-cooked dinner, which involved lamb and banana foster that refused to flame. I've gotten two invitations for Christmas day.

I've been feeling more optimistic and less depressed lately. It feels kinda nice. It also helped that I found orchids on my doorstep a few days ago.

Also, I had my oil changed today, and usually they put a sticker on your windshield with miles till next oil change. This time, someone also drew in a smiley face and a rose.

Tee hee.

If you're in town and want to hang out, let me know. I'll leave for VA on the 28th.

So far, so good. Piper just finished assembling the tree while successfully trying to avoid being photographed. Denise was having a good time trying to take the pictures. Josiah was trying to conceal that he was secretly eating a candy cane under his bed covers, while Andy was playing "Blades of Avernum" on the computer. I'v been epoxying an old tree ornament back together.

I think the hope that one of the current job prospects will come through is lifting my spirits.

Let me know when you'd prefer to do home-cooked dinner round two. Hope to see you on Christmas.

Basically you get charged $50 the next time you make a reservation, plus the difference in tix prices.. but since the seattle ticket was rather expensive, I doubt there'll be more to pay.

It was a not well thought out decision, buying the ticket in the first place.

Have a Merry Christmas as well!!
